Troy volleyball split a two-match series against Louisiana last week inside Earl K. Long Gym to bring their record to 2-6 in conference play. The Trojans claimed the win on Thursday night 3-1 as Amiah Butler had a career match, hitting .434 and recording 29 kills, shattering her previous high of 24 earlier this season. Troy softball continued its fall ball schedule with a 6-2 win against Faulkner at home Friday night at the Troy Softball Complex. Troy men’s golf had a full state of competition on their hands. A few members of the team traveled to Killen to take part in the Turtle Point Invite. Members that did not participate there got the chance to participate in the Everett GMC Buick Classic, held in Little Rock, Arkansas. After three straight key victories for Troy, the team now travels to Monroe, Louisiana, to take on the ULM Warhawks this Saturday at 2 p.m. The Trojans enter with a 4-2 record and sit at 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Troy volleyball team fell to Georgia Southern in a two-match series inside Trojan Arena last weekend. The Trojans struggled to overcome 28 attack errors on Friday, which head coach Josh Lauer says was the biggest problem of the night. “We weren’t consistent enough to win tonight,” Lauer said. “It really cost us the match. “Seventeen unforced errors were really the difference.
