Troy Track and Field competed in the USATF Indoor Championships on Feb. 28 and March 1. The Troy softball team is off to a spectacular 8-1 start this season, its best under head coach Eric Newell and the best start since beginning 8-1 in 2022. The Trojans entered the D1 Softball Mid-Major Rankings at No. 20 on Monday.  While the team’s offense has been electric – leading the Sun Belt Conference with 77 runs and scoring 8.56 per game – Troy’s pitching has put on a show. Troy men’s basketball stumbled last week with back-to-back road losses to Southern Miss and Texas State, falling 69-65 and 74-62, respectively.  The Trojans had seemingly righted the ship with two consecutive wins in the week prior, but the momentum came to a halt in the 74-62 loss to Texas State on Wednesday night.  The Bobcats pounced to an early lead, 16-8 after the first eight minutes of play. Troy men’s golf closed out its first match of the spring on Tuesday at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.  Houston played host to the tournament and earned the win out of 13 teams competing. Troy finished in 11th, beating Sam Houston and Wright State. Other teams included Tarleton State, North Texas, Illinois State and others including Sun Belt foe Louisiana. Last weekend, the Cardinal Clash ensued.
