For the first time since 2021, the Super Bowl featured a man who once donned the Power T thanks to New England’s Dell Pettus.
Though the Patriots fell short in the big game, Pettus recorded two tackles against the Seattle Seahawks. After being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023, Pettus recorded at least one tackle in each of the team’s four playoff games. He wrapped up his second season in the league with 20 tackles, including 11 solo tackles. The 24-year-old already has an AFC Championship win on his resume.

Out of Huntsville, Alabama, Pettus was a member of the Troy football team from 2019-23. During that time, he earned two Sun Belt Conference titles under former head coach Jon Sumrall.
Pettus recorded 73 tackles in his senior campaign and earned All-Sun Belt Second Team honors. Over his final two seasons in college, the Trojans impressed with a 23-5 record.
Though Pettus did not get a Super Bowl ring after the 29-13 loss, he’ll continue his underdog story from going undrafted to being a championship contending member of the New England Patriots.
