The Trojans continued their streak of crushing records during their return to Clemson last weekend. During the track and field team’s time at the Bob Pollock Invitational, the Trojans once again competed against many Power Four schools such as Auburn, Georgia Tech and NC State.

On the men’s side, Troy broke three program records, including times in the 4x400, 5000m and mile.

Romario Taylor, Antonio Blair, Dawson Isbell and Devyn Pearman beat the men’s 4x400 program record with a time of 3:15.49, beating the previous record of 3:16.98 by a second and a half.

The men’s 5000m record was obliterated by Lane Watson, who finished with a time of 15:17.10. Watson beat the 10-year-old record by 29 seconds.

Finally, Patterson Graham finished the mile with a time of 4:22.28, which improved over the previous record’s 4:26.20 time by nearly four seconds.

The men also broke personal records, many of which were in the same category. Dawson Isbell and Christian Buzzard both smashed their personal bests in the men’s 200m, with Isbell finishing with a time of 22.30 and Buzzard finishing with a 22.35.

Romario Taylor and Devyn Pearman also broke their personal records in the men’s 400m event, with times of 48.36 and 50.02 respectively.

Rounding out the men’s personal bests, Antonio Blair beat his 800m personal best with a time of 1:53.68.

The women’s side brought many personal records for track with a season’s best in one field event.

Starting off, Faith Jones, who ran the women’s 60m hurdles with a time of 7.57, not only broke her personal best but also earned her third place in the event’s program history.

Jones also broke her personal best during the women’s 200m event, clocking in at 25.81.

Adaorah Okafor broke her personal record during the women’s 60m event with a time of 7.83.

During the women’s long jump event, Kady Schwietz broke a season record with a distance of 5.43m.

The Trojans are set to compete at the UAB Invite on Feb. 7 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
