Turning to singles play, Alexia Zarate was the first Trojan to claim victory as she defeated Tstitsi Mahere in two sets, 6-2 in both. Heni was next as she beat Melissa Mwakha, 6-4, 6-1. Both Trojans laid the foundation for a win streak as they’ve won their last two matches dating back to their showdown with Stetson.

The Trojans claimed their fifth point of the day when Avdeeva conquered Alabama A&M’s Gabrielle Henderson, 6-1, 6-3. Guirguis was pushed by Alicia Owegi in set one, but overcame her in set two to claim victory, 7-5, 6-0.

Leena Metwally ended the day for Troy by defeating Sofia Sotelo Raya. Metwally won both sets and closed the door on the Bulldogs, 6-4 followed by 6-3.
