Over spring break, the Troy men’s tennis team picked up six wins.
Starting in Atlanta, the Trojans opened conference play with a 4–0 win against Georgia State. Junior Luciano Alcocer and freshman Ryusei Miyazato won 6–3 on court two, while freshman Stephan Tavares Noale and sophomore Thiago Drozdowski won 6–4 on court one, securing the doubles point for Troy.
In singles play, senior Yeray Andres Pastor and Alcocer both earned straight-set wins. Noale followed with the clincher, giving the Trojans the overall victory.
Troy continued its winning streak by defeating Augusta 4–0, Mercer 7–0, Jackson State 4–0 — where Alcocer and Pastor earned their first doubles win as a pair — Alcorn State 7–0, and most recently Mississippi Valley State 5–0.
So far this season, Hiro Sakamoto is 14–0 in singles, holding the most singles wins on the team. Behind him, Noale is 10–1, Andres Pastor is 9–5, and Boilevin is 7–2. In doubles, Alcocer and Miyazato are 8–1, with Drozdowski and Noale close behind at 8–2. All of the Trojans hold standout records.
