Troy Track and Field competed in the USATF Indoor Championships on Feb. 28 and March 1. The championships were held in Staten Island, New York, and had a variety of events for runners of all ages.

Travis Massey ran a 6.88 for the Men’s 60m event, landing him 21st place overall. Benjamin Jaudon ran a time of 8.07 for Men’s 60m Hurdles, earning 19th place during the event. The Trojans earned the honor of competing in the championships after strong performances during the indoor season.

The Trojans will continue onto their outdoor track and field season after a dominant indoor season. The Trojans broke 10 school records this indoor season, with some of these records being broken from the same season. Not only did they break school records, the Trojans beat a myriad of their personal and season-best records.

Some notable school records broken include Ethan Forbes breaking the school record for the men’s 800m event twice, Faith Jones beating an 18-year-old women's 60m record, Lane Watson breaking the 10-year-old record for the men’s 5000m event by 29 seconds and Patterson Graham breaking the all-time record for the men’s mile.

The Trojans’ outdoor track season starts with the USF Alumni Invitational on Mar. 20 and 21. Throughout the season, the Trojans will visit Florida State University, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt and Pennsylvania.

Troy will also be hosting its very own Doc Anderson Multi & Invitational. The event will be held on April 3 and 4, and will be held at the Troy Soccer Complex.

Overall, Troy track and field had a successful season indoors and will be ringing in the outdoor season with high spirits and high expectations.
