The Troy football team announced the hire of Adam Austin as its offensive coordinator to start the new year. Head coach Gerad Parker snagged Austin from Tarleton State, where he led the Texans’ FCS highest-scoring offense.  Through the 2025 season, Tarleton State averaged 42.4 points and 457.6 yards per game. Troy football faced a major setback in a shutout loss to Old Dominion, 33-0 at S.B. Ballard Stadium on Thursday night.  The game began with a thundering hit by Troy’s AZ Williams on the opening kickoff to start Old Dominion off on its own 13-yard line.
