Evan Crenshaw is one of the most awarded Trojans from last season, and the awards keep coming in. In the same season where the prolific punter was a finalist for the Ray Guy award and earned Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Year, Crenshaw was named for the Sporting News All-America First Team.

Soon after his initial selection, Crenshaw was named to the Football Writers Association of America All-America First Team. With his second national honor, Crenshaw became the first Trojan in the program’s Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) history to earn multiple All-America selections.

He is only the third Trojan since the move to FBS to receive the All-America nod since Kimani Vidal and Leodis McKelvin and matches Lawrence Tynes’ two All-America honors from 2000.

Despite starting his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina, Crenshaw transferred to Troy in his junior year and received a redshirt. In his redshirt year, Crenshaw logged one punt, a 44-yarder at Iowa.

In his redshirt junior year, he has been a weapon on the special teams unit, logging 62-yard punts twice against Memphis and Georgia State. Crenshaw was nominated as Ray Guy Punter of the Week against Buffalo, where he punted five times, averaging 52.2 yards per punt.

His contributions on the field propelled Troy into the top 20 nationally in net punt rankings at No. 17, where he averaged 45.69 yards per punt. The Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, native also fired off an 11-yard pass in the Sun Belt West clinching win against Southern Miss.

When mentioning why he picked Troy when testing the transfer portal, Crenshaw gave his respect to head coach Gerad Parker.

“[Parker] has been everything I’ve asked for and more,” Crenshaw said. “When I tell people why I chose Troy, he was the biggest reason of them all.”

You can see Crenshaw finish off his college career next football season, starting with a home contest against the Sam Houston State Bearkats on September 5th.
