Emma's Enlightenments: Stay unapologetically you
This Week’s Advice: Stay Unapologetically You. I, like so many others, care so much about what others think about me. Every night before bed, I wonder if I did good enough during the day I had. I wince at the mistakes I made and beat myself up over what I could have done better. Embarrassment and shame are my worst fears, ever. Even in class, I am hesitant to drink my coffee a certain way or check the time another. This isn’t healthy, but it’s not abnormal. We, as people

Emma's Enlightenments: Work on building healthy habits
This Week’s Advice: Healthy habits. Since being in college, so much has happened both mentally and socially. Coming to college can be such a culture shock. I have to save myself. If no one is there, be there. Sometimes, you have to take your own steps to being okay, which means being alone for a little while. There won’t be someone there to pick you up every time you fall. You can’t expect to always have another set of hands. Y

Looking back and falling forward
Emma's Enlightements This Week’s Advice: Looking Back and Falling Forward. Welcome back! Even though it’s an adjustment going back and forth, I hope everyone had a much needed, restful break. I had a lot to think about during my time back home. Over the break, I learned something important: you can look back, but don’t fall back. I was by myself for a while, and I was thinking way too much. I started missing people I shouldn’t have and falling back into old habits of s
