Everything becomes clear
Something that always amazed me was how some people can make their minds go blank. I have never understood how one can have no thoughts. I, instead, have too many thoughts.
This can manifest in different ways for everyone. Some speak on their thoughts, some act on their thoughts and some just think on their thoughts. How to manage your thoughts is something to prioritize in this new semester.
There are going to be so many changes in these upcoming weeks, and what matters is how we handle them. If something is presented to you, then that is what it is. A wolf is still a wolf even in sheep’s clothing.
Some things do not require constant overthinking. If someone shows you who they are, take it, and keep it close to you. If you realize a class is not meant for you, find a new one that feels more right. Do not overthink what presents itself to you.
Do not spiral when it is a parallel line.
I first realized this when I fell victim to a person who made me doubt my own mind. I was constantly wondering if what I remembered was real, or if I made it up. I was in a state of disillusion, constantly wondering if there was deeper meaning to the words I was hearing.
There were, but it wasn’t the riddle I thought it was.
The truth was the way I was being treated. That should have spoken enough for itself.
You should not have to rethink your own thoughts. You are you; your mind is your mind.
There should be nothing that ever makes you question your trust in yourself.
Do not ever be in anything that makes you think your mind is not yours. Whether that is a friendship, relationship or even just a general situation. Know that what you see is what you get, and knowing how to step away from what you know will not do you any good.
Moreover, don’t be afraid to step away from something that is only doing you harm. You have to take the reins on your own wellbeing. An important part of being in college is independence, which also includes the independence of knowing what is meant for you, and what is not. Make the right choice for yourself.
What is clear is clear. Take care of yourself these upcoming weeks. Do not overload yourself when you know how much you can handle. Clear your head and remember not to overthink what you know is true.
