Troy Volleyball secured its spot in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament after defeating Southern Miss in a two-match series on Friday and Saturday inside Trojan Arena.  The Trojans went to five sets in both matches, putting up a fight to sweep the Golden Eagles and punch a ticket to the tournament in Foley, Alabama.  Friday night was a thriller, as the Trojans won their sixth straight match against the Golden Eagles and outscored Southern Miss 40-25 in the final two sets.   Se

Troy volleyball split another two-match series last weekend on the road against the ULM Warhawks.   The Trojans had a rough start in the first match on Thursday as they fell in four sets.   Amiah Butler finished the match with 24 kills, hitting .354 and adding 15 digs to collect another double-double on the season. Long Gym to bring their record to 2-6 in conference play.   The Trojans claimed the win on Thursday night 3-1 as Amiah Butler had a career match, hitting .434 and recording 29 kills, shattering her previous high of 24 earlier this season. The Troy volleyball team fell to Georgia Southern in a two-match series inside Trojan Arena last weekend.   The Trojans struggled to overcome 28 attack errors on Friday, which head coach Josh Lauer says was the biggest problem of the night.  “We weren’t consistent enough to win tonight,” Lauer said. “It really cost us the match.  “Seventeen unforced errors were really the difference. We had a lead there in the fourth to get us into the fifth and we just got too error prone.”
