Former Troy baseball players Adam Godwin and Clint Robinson were named as members of the 2025 Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame class. The duo, who were teammates at Troy, will be inducted on Aug. 23.

“I’m tremendously honored [to be inducted],” Godwin said on the Trojan Talk Podcast presented by Barry McKnight. “When you get a call like that, you start thinking of your parents and amazing coaches and teammates along the way.”

During his two seasons as a player at Troy, Godwin etched his name into the record books. The Enterprise, Alabama, native led the nation with 84 stolen bases in 2005, setting a school record and earning him the Atlantic Sun Player of the Year award.

“It was pretty wild to watch,” Robinson said on Trojan Talk. “[Godwin] was the ultimate table-setter for our team – you knew if he got on first base, you might as well let him go to second base.”

Godwin still holds the program record for career stolen bases with 112. The 2005 Second Team All-American hit .374 as a Trojan.

Meanwhile, Robinson was a four-year starter for the Trojans. The Dothan, Alabama, native earned back-to-back All-Sun Belt honors in 2006 and 2007, leading Troy to the NCAA Tournament during those years.

“We all knew Clint was special,” Godwin said on Trojan Talk. “All the upperclassmen looked at this freshman hitting in the meat of our order and driving in runs.”

Robinson’s 178 career RBIs are third in program history, and his 37 career homers rank sixth in Troy history. He credits Troy for the person he is today.

“More importantly than the memories, it’s the little things that Troy taught me,” Robinson said. “Troy taught me how to be an adult and how to be responsible for myself.

“The ability to carry those life lessons from Troy into how I raise my kids now has made Troy a very special place.”

Fabulous Troy careers springboarded both men to MLB Draft selections – Robinson played in 243 big-league games across four seasons. He posted a .720 career OPS and swatted 15 homers with the Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals.

Godwin played professionally before launching into a coaching career, where he spent time in the minor leagues before getting a job at Troy. He is now the assistant coach of the Trojans.

The induction ceremony will be at the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center in Dothan on Aug. 23.
