Five members of the 2025 Troy baseball team inked professional contracts over the summer, the most of any season since 2007. Three Trojans were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, while two signed free-agent contracts.
Brooks Bryan, Noah Edders and Jay Dill were each selected in the 20-round draft while Adam Falinkski and Colby Frieda secured pro contracts after. In four seasons as the head coach, Skylar Meade has had six players drafted.

After participating in the MLB Draft Combine, Bryan was the first Trojan off the board. The Kansas City Royals selected him in the eighth round at pick No. 248.
“Brooks is the epitome of a true Trojan,” Meade said to Troy Athletics. “It will be great to watch his journey begin very soon.”
The Royals selected the left-handed bat following a stellar Troy career, where Bryan was a two-time All-Sun Belt selection. Bryan also shattered Troy’s single-season RBI record in 2024, driving in 85 runs.
Bryan paired his career .931 OPS with solid defense behind the plate and significant power. He hit 34 home runs as a Trojan, ninth in program history.
Although Royals franchise catcher Salvador Perez is nearing the end of his career, Bryan joins an organization rich in catching talent. Three of the Royals top-10 prospects are catchers, and two are top 100 MLB prospects.
Edders was drafted in the 15th round by the Chicago Cubs, who took him at pick No. 451. The right-hander was one of Troy’s most reliable pitchers, leading the team with 65 innings pitched.
“Noah is a kid who evolved so much in our program, and we’re proud of how he represented himself,” Meade said. “I really believe he can pitch a long time in pro ball, and it will be exciting to watch the next phase in his development with the Cubs.”
Although Edders posted a 5.12 ERA with the Trojans last season, the Bradley transfer struck out 67 batters and walked 27. He dazzled in a win over College World Series runner-up Coastal Carolina, punching out nine batters across six innings of three-run ball.
Dill, Troy’s top relief pitcher in 2025, was the final draft pick for the Trojans. The Athletics took him in the 18th round with pick No. 530.
“Jay has made himself into a true pitcher in his two years at Troy,” Meade said. “His elite fastball has been the calling card, topping out at 98-plus [mph], but he truly improved his command and pitchability.”
The right-handed flamethrower pitched 95 innings in two seasons at Troy after transferring from Clemson. He posted Troy’s lowest ERA for pitchers with at least 40 innings, finishing 2025 with a 3.67 ERA. Dill also led the team with 70 strikeouts and six saves.
Meanwhile, Falinski signed a free-agent deal with the Minnesota Twins and Frieda signed with the New York Mets.
Falinski – an Eastern Michigan transfer – pitched to the tune of a 5.83 ERA as Troy’s midweek starter. Frieda, a Kentucky transfer, logged a 3.97 ERA and struck out 10.5 batters per nine innings. Frieda recorded four saves out of the bullpen and proved to be one of Troy’s most reliable arms.
