Troy University’s Activities Council (UAC) has a new executive board that is looking forward to making a good impression on the student body.

The UAC has officially announced the 2024-2025 Executive Board. The board consists of Clio Phan, Martina Paderni, Julia Parker, Kamyria Anderson, Jamie Parker, Ja’Vius Pruitt and Tayjo Oppong.

Two students who are excited to be a part of the UAC board ran for their positions because they want to continue to give Troy University’s student body fun experiences on campus.

“I decided to run because I feel like I’m a person who tries to connect with everyone and listen to how they want to enjoy themselves on campus,” said UAC executive board member, Jamie Parker. Parker is a freshman nursing major from Millbrook, Alabama.

“I decided to run for the UAC executive board to develop leadership skills, to make a difference on campus and to be more involved in university life,” said UAC executive board member, Kamyria Anderson. Anderson is a freshman nursing major from Hoover, Alabama.

Anderson said she got her start with the organization by coming to the weekly meetings that are open to all students.

“At first, I just wanted to go see what it was all about because I knew I loved going to the events they hosted,” Anderson said. “I ended up liking it a lot, so I kept going.

“Then, anytime someone on the executive board needed extra people to help set up, I would go.”

Parker said he got involved in UAC by attending one of their events he enjoyed participating in.

“I enjoyed everyone there, and I had fun making new friends, then I got involved with UAC,” Parker said.

Parker stated he wants to accomplish greatness within the council for Troy University students. Anderson has a list of goals she wants to achieve while on the organization’s executive board.

“I hope to host memorable events, represent student interests, foster campus community, promote inclusivity and encourage students to get out even more,” Anderson said.

Parker and Anderson share some advice for students who are interested in getting involved with UAC.

“Come join! It’s full of fun being able to promote events that’s going to bring everyone together,” Parker said.

UAC holds a meeting every Monday night at 5 in Trojan Center Room 224. To keep up with UAC’s upcoming events, students can follow them on Instagram @troyuac.

“Just come to the events and the meetings and volunteer,” Anderson said. “Everyone is welcome.”
