As students continue to search for the perfect finds in a variety of products, others are creating these perfect finds with new designs for the spring semester.

Student-Made Troy is a shop featuring a variety of handmade products from a number of Troy University students.

One of the many clothing brands featured at this shop is ‘A Baller From The Ville.’ The powerful words and messages on these products are set to inspire, motivate and encourage others to be themselves and to stay true to their origins.

“My mother inspired me to start this clothing brand since she runs her own business called ‘Can’t Stop Won't Stop Cleaning,’” said Jamarion Willie, the creator of ‘A Baller From The Ville’ and a freshman electronics engineering major from Huntsville, Alabama. “My most challenging and best-selling design was my ‘Never Forget Where You Came From’ design.

“One day while I was writing a speech, the slogan suddenly came to me.”

Students can expect a new collection to drop soon, which will include hoodies, shirts, hats, sweatshirts and sweatpants.

As far as art types and creations are concerned, ‘The Artsey Juice Box’ is a brand that strives to help others smile a little bit more.

“Much of the inspiration for my art is my passion for making things that help me smile, and I also enjoy making other people's lives a little happier,” said Taylor Gray, the creator of ‘The Artsey Juice Box’ and a junior digital and studio art major from Ashville, Alabama. “I've always been interested in making money off of my creations, and Student-Made is the perfect outlet.

“I most enjoy learning more methods and art styles while making things. I've learned crochet, linoleum stamp making, woodblock printing, bracelet making and more.”

Most of Gray’s work this year will likely be crochet, glass bead and letter bead bracelets as well as the possibility of some t-shirts.

Continuing on the topic of art creations, ‘That’s.Tuffed’ is a rug brand where different size rugs of different themes are created. Custom requests are also accepted.

“I enjoy seeing the rugs come to life the most, since it’s similar to painting by number but with yarn and a tufting gun,” said Erykah Williams, the creator of ‘That’s.Tuffed’ and a Troy Alumna from Eufaula, Alabama. “I always ask myself what would make my 12-year-old-self happy because all of my work is dedicated to her satisfaction.

“I am truly blessed to have this ability and have the courage to share a piece of my universe with everyone.”

‘Creation by LK’ is another brand that focuses on custom-made pieces. Baked goods are another product offered by this brand.

“The idea originally started because of my love for macarons, so I started baking, and it took off from there,” said Laney Kelley, the creator of ‘Creation by LK’ and a junior interdisciplinary studies major and general business marketing and event management minor from DeFuniak Springs, Florida. “I love being able to share my talent and love for art with other people and see them happy with what I have created for them.

“I love being able to bring people’s ideas to life in any form of art specifically for them.”

Kelley is already starting on new ‘GAME DAY’ buttons and plenty of new embroidered clothing items. One major drop happening soon is hand-painted trucker hats.
