Troy men’s golf had a full state of competition on their hands. A few members of the team traveled to Killen to take part in the Turtle Point Invite. Members that did not participate there got the chance to participate in the Everett GMC Buick Classic, held in Little Rock, Arkansas.Â
Of the members that participated in the Turtle Point Invite, Lawton Emblom shot 1-under par, which tied him for 18th place – this is his first taste of collegiate action. Shooting just one shot over was Pierce Becker – he landed in a four-way tie for 20th place. Also securing a top 40 position while shooting six over was Haston Emblom -- The Emblom twins combined for 15 birdies on day one. Â
Looking over to the Everett GMC Buick Classic, Troy’s 5-under par performance secured 15th place – no individual Trojan placed outside of the top 100. Their best performances came in rounds one and three, respectively. The Trojans shot even par in the opening round and shot 6-under-par to close the tournament out, their best round of the season.Â
Pablo Gracia led the way for the Trojans in individual play. He landed in a six-way tie for 11th place, shooting 5-under overall. On day one, Gracia accounted for three birdies and eagles respectively. Â
