Halloween – A classic horror film
Spooky season comes to its close at the end of October every year. What better way to celebrate the Halloween season than with the season classic “Halloween.” Before watching the film, I had low expectations for the film. I have seen jokes online about some of the deaths and scenes involving the slasher, Michael Myers. However, this movie was a pleasant surprise. The pacing, score and acting in this film are amazing, with there only being a few laughable moments. The most

Kids enjoy Tricks and Treats at Troy’s Softball Complex
The Troy softball team served up all treats and no tricks last Wednesday evening at its annual Trunk-or-Treat event. Kids from the community poured onto the softball field as the sun set, hoping to score big on candy. The softball players and coaches all dressed up and facilitated the games. One such player, dressed as Bobby Boucher from “The Waterboy,” passed out candy from a cooler. “I think it's amazing to bring the community to the field, show them where it's at,” sa

Students were beckoned into a transformed version of Malone Hall, where 35 student volunteers laid in wait to scare them. Assistant Administrator of Art and Design Malory Magrath said the haunted house was entirely student-led. “We let everybody vote on the ideas we came up with,” Magrath said. “We let everyone share any ideas they

Spooky Song Review: Halloween by Sonic Youth
There are some Halloween song staples that are constantly played during October. Songs such as “The Monster Mash” and “Ghostbusters” get their time in the spotlight, but there are also some spooky songs that are overlooked throughout the season. One of the songs that I feel is overlooked in the Halloween music canon is the song “Halloween” by Sonic Youth. “Halloween” is a song that appeared initially as a bonus track on the CD edition of the band’s third album, “Bad Moon Ris
