The Troy women’s tennis team gets hyped up.

The Troy women’s tennis team was shut out on the road by Texas State in its final regular season match.

Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis opened play with a doubles victory on court one, but after Troy’s tiebreak loss in line three doubles, it was all Texas State.

Avdeeva was the only Trojan to win a set in singles as the Bobcats swiftly finished the match with the doubles point and three straight-set victories for a 4-0 final.

The Trojans fell to seventh place in the final Sun Belt Conference standings as Texas State secured third place and a first-round bye.

Head coach Rawia Elsisi and the Trojans will look to shake off the loss and take care of business against Coastal Carolina on Apr. 24 in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship in Rome, Georgia.

The Chanticleers sit dead last in the standings with a modest 4-6 record in conference play.

Troy won its previous meeting with Coastal Carolina this year in 4-2 fashion, despite dropping the doubles point.

The Trojans will close the season with a 6-5 record in Sun Belt play and an 11-9 record overall.

Troy will first take the court against Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. CT in Rome, Georgia, and all Sun Belt Conference matches are available to stream through ESPN+.
