The Troy women’s tennis team extended its win streak to three this weekend with a victory over Georgia State.

The Trojans seem to have found their stroke again as they have strongly rebounded from a rough patch where they lost the doubles point seven weeks in a row. After their win this past weekend, the Trojans are 7-0 this year when possessing the doubles point.

An impressive doubles performance from Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis on court one earned the Trojans their first victory of the day 6-1.

Hagar Ramadan-Amin and Leena Metwally also won their match on court three 6-4 to obtain the doubles point for the Trojans.

After a Troy loss on court one evened things back up at 1-1, Metwally dominated her opponent 6-1, 6-2 to retake the lead 2-1. This also marked Metwally's 10th win of the season on court five.

On court three, Guirguis battled out a tough 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 victory to increase the Troy lead to 3-1.

Ramadan-Amin sealed the Trojan victory 4-1 with an outstanding win on court two 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

The final two matches were played to completion and were split 1-1 as Avdeeva was forced to retire in the third set.

Gabrielle Leslie collected her 13th win of the year on court six 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) as she continues to build on her breakout season.

The Trojans improved to 10-6 overall with a strong 4-2 record in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Trojans will look to build on their three-game win streak as they head to Texas State for another vital conference matchup on April 5.
