Men's tennis runs win streak to 12

The Troy men’s tennis team claimed its 12th straight win this past Thursday, defeating Alabama State 5–2.
Starting off in doubles, Luciano Alcocer and Yeray Andrés Pastor rolled on court one with a 6–0 win. Alabama State responded by sweeping the final two doubles matches, including a 6–3 win on court two, to take the doubles point.
In singles play, the Trojans moved with ease, winning five of the first six sets. Louis Boilevin finished first on court six with a 6–0, 6–1 victory. Hiro Sakamoto wrapped up shortly after on court four, winning 6–1, 6–1 and improving to 17–1 in dual matches this season.
Alcocer added another straight‑set win on court two, taking his match 6–1, 6–4.
Andrés Pastor came through to clinch the match for the Trojans, earning his ninth straight singles win with a 7–5, 6–2 result on court three. The remaining matches were played out, with Ausiàs Martín Melo securing a win on court one.
Troy moves on as the Trojans play host to Tuskegee on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Eastern Florida State at 3 p.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. After that, the Trojans travel to Rome, Georgia, for the Sun Belt Tournament from April 16-19.
