The Troy men’s tennis team collected another home win in its dominant 7-0 win against Mississippi Gulf Coast.

From the first serve during doubles play, the Trojans controlled the match. On court one, freshman Stephan Tavares Noale and sophomore Thiago Drozdowski won 6-3. The sophomore duo of Henrique de Brito and Hiiro Sakamoto secured another win on court three, 6-2, to secure the point.

Closing out the doubles match, Luciano Alcocer and Ryusei Miyazato came together, winning 6-3.

Going into the singles matches, the Trojans maintained that same fire. Ausias Martin Melo defeated the Bulldogs’ Angel Hernandez 6-2, and Troy’s Louis Boilevin wiped out Brennan McGlothin 6-0. The Trojans ended all their singles matches with straight-set wins.

The men’s team holds a 10-4 overall record and an undefeated 8-0 home record. With their next match against Louisiana postponed to a later date, the Trojans will open their conference play March 14 against Georgia State in Atlanta.
