After going 10-for-14 last week, Kiley Huffman was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. She’s the second Trojan to earn the honor this season after Makaley Boswell did in late February.

Against Kennesaw State, Huffman went 4-for-4 with a sacrifice fly, three RBIs and a stolen base. She scored on an inside-the-park home run, earning her first collegiate homer in the process.

The Texas Tech transfer carried that momentum into the weekend series against Southern Miss – she went 3-for-4 on Friday night and tacked on her 10th multi-hit game of the season on Sunday. Following the weekend, Huffman is second on the team with 38 hits and third on the team with 20 runs.

The Alvin, Texas, native has been nothing but consistent at the plate in March but broke out last week. This month, she’s logged a hit in 13 out of 16 games. Three multi-hit contests highlighted her performance this week.

In addition to her consistency at the dish, Huffman showed off her range in right field over the weekend. She made a diving catch in the outfield and turned on the jets to snatch a few balls out of the gap.

Huffman and the Trojans hit the road to play Louisiana over the weekend. Games will be played on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and will be streamed on ESPN+. Troy will aim to earn its first series victory in Lafayette, Louisiana, in program history after winning its first ever series against the Ragin’ Cajuns at home last year.
