Traffic cleared after a pickup truck and semi-truck collided in front of the Trojan Center Monday afternoon, right at 3 p.m.
According to Troy University Police, the semi-truck was attempting to take the curve going up Veterans Memorial Drive toward Jones Hall, the newly constructed health sciences building. As the semi tried to turn right, a pickup truck attempted to go down the road toward the Trojan Center.
The front left side of the semi-truck’s engine hood became entrapped underneath the pickup truck’s bed as both vehicles were making their turns on the stee, tight curve in front of the Trojan Center’s main entrance.
During the investigation, no injuries were reported to the police. However, one driver did request to go to the hospital for a cautionary check.
A tow truck came to the scene shortly after the crash. After securing the semi-truck with its pins, the tow truck slowly pulled the vehicle from under the pickup truck’s bed.
As authorities worked to quickly clear the scene, drivers were directed around the wreck through the parking lot in front of the Troy Soccer Complex until both vehicles were cleared from the road.
