Ever want something sweet, but don’t want to go out? Well, here’s a quick and easy dessert you can make in your own dorm room or apartment! This chocolate mug cake recipe is perfect for movie nights, roommate hangouts and especially rainy-day relaxing.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

  • 4 tablespoons of white sugar

  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

  • 3 tablespoons of milk

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable or canola oil

  • Extra chocolate chips

  • Optional: Whip cream to top!

Instructions:

  • Add the flour, sugar and cocoa powder to a large, microwave-safe mug. Mix the dry ingredients together until they are fully combined.

  • Pour in the milk and vegetable oil. Continue mixing until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain. Sprinkle in some extra chocolate chips!

  • Microwave the mug on high for 70 to 90 seconds. Cooking time varies based on microwave wattage, so check after around 70 seconds. The top should appear set, but the center will still be moist and fudgy.

  • Let the cake cool for at least 3-5 minutes before enjoying it. It can be topped with the rest of the chocolate chips or whipped cream for extra richness!
