UAC holds student Casino Night

The University Activities Council (UAC) held its annual casino night at the Trojan Fitness and Wellness Center Monday night. Students enjoyed a night full of games, friendly competition and the possibility to win some prizes.
Go big or go home, that's the story of a casino night. Students played games such as blackjack, craps and roulette in hopes of leaving with a prize at the end of the night.
“Casino night is something we do every semester,” said Mallory Morris, UAC president and junior graphic design major from Hoover, Alabama. “We’ve done it for years now.
“It’s just something fun that students wouldn't normally get the opportunity to do so we like providing them with a chance to get out of their dorms, meet some new friends or just hang out with some friends here and also have the opportunity to win some big prizes."
For another UAC member, events like casino night are meant to keep campus lively for students.
“Events like these build a great community,” said Jerodney Hinkle, a freshman electrical engineering major from Montgomery, Alabama. “Building that community up keeps campus lively.
“Sometimes you might get bored in your dorm room or apartment, so having a way to go out with your friends is important. All it really takes is a good game and a friend beside you to get you laughing.”
For one student, casino night offered a chance to have fun with his friends and meet new ones as well.
“I like gambling a lot,” said Caden Whitt, a junior financial economics major from Springville, Alabama. “When I win, of course.
“I had a fantastic time. I love when the UAC does activities like this one. Not only can I see my friends, but I can also meet new ones. It’s a really fun environment as well with a good vibe and a good atmosphere.”
Casino night is expected to return in the spring, bringing students back together once again to enjoy a night full of fun games and unforgettable memories.
Hinkle said the UAC’s next events will be announced on Instagram @troyuac.
