We undoubtedly helped Venezuela

On Jan. 3, 2026, the United States of America launched a military strike in Venezuela and captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. They then were brought back to the United States to face drug trafficking charges.

According to npr.org, the US has struck at least five “Venezuelan” drug boats that were trying to bring drugs across the border. If the Venezuelan “president” was sending drugs into our country, we are absolutely justified to go into their country and capture him.

According to usatoday.com, President Trump stated America is taking Venezuelan oil and bringing it into oil refineries in Houston, Texas. This could have a slight impact on the economy as the price of oil will go down because America now has a surplus of oil.

According to cbsnews.com, millions of Venezuelan people gathered in the streets and held parades celebrating that America had captured their dictator, while people in America gathered in the streets to protest the military going into Venezuela. If you want to determine if this was a success or not, look at the people of the country that was “invaded.”

The people of Venezuela were in the streets celebrating and praising President Trump for this amazing act of patriotism.

America freed the Venezuelan people from a dictatorship. According to bbc.com, at least 80 political prisoners have been released since Maduro got captured. The president of a true democracy shouldn’t imprison people simply because they don’t share the same political beliefs, instead that is highly characteristic of a dictator.

President Trump guaranteed that the Venezuelan people get to live in a democracy. The people of Venezuela wouldn’t gather in the streets and celebrate if the U.S. did something to harm them or did something to them against their will.

Yet, there are still many individuals in America who believe Trump can never do anything right and criticize him for trying to make our country safer.

At the end of the day, not everyone can be pleased, and you can’t make everyone happy.

However the people of Venezuela are happy and thankful for President Trump’s actions to capture their president and dismantle the apparent dictatorship they were living under.
