Troy’s cross country ended its season with multiple personal records broken at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve on Friday as part of the Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championship.

The Trojans scored 158 points on the men’s side, earning sixth place overall and 267 points on the women’s side, earning 11th overall and scoring only three points more than 10th place Georgia Southern. The Trojans earned multiple personal bests as well, with the men and women earning five and three, respectively.

Individually, the men had six top 50 finishes overall in the 8k, with Riley Treadaway (25:23.80) and Caden Blackman (25:32.40) leading the pack with 23rd and 27th place, respectively. Treadaway also earned a personal best time in the process.

Patterson Graham also earned a personal best with his time of 25:48.10, placing 33rd overall. Lane Watson rounded out the top 40, placing 35th with a time of 25:51.70.

Keith Warner in 47th place and Ethan Forbes in 49th place rounded off the top 50 within five seconds of each other, running times of 26:35.80 and 26:40.00, respectively. Forbes also earned a personal best time through the process.

Individually on the women’s side, multiple personal records were broken and five runners placed within the top 80 during the 5k. Winny Kosgei blazed through the rest of the Troy pack, running a time of 18:08.90 and placing 22nd place overall.

Along with Kosgei, Lucy Turley (18:54.90) and Abby Jepkemboi (18:57.50) ran personal best times in the event. Turley placed 50th place overall while Jepkemboi placed 52nd.

Pheline Mining (19:47.10) and Haley Wilson (19:52.30) rounded out the top 80, finishing in 74th and 79th place, respectively.

Head coach Brian Cunningham mentioned how proud he was for how both the men and women performed during the championship.

“They gave their all today, truly left everything on the course, as evidenced by the numbers of personal bests and season's bests,” Cunningham said. “Riley and Winny were each just outside of third team all-conference positions.

“Overall, this has been a very good year of learning and growth."
