Through a new partnership with EdVisorly and local community colleges, Troy University is taking huge strides to guide transfer students to graduation as fast as possible. Troy first began innovating their transfer system in the late 1980s and hasn’t looked back since, being the first institution to apply a computerized system into their transfer process.

EdVisorly is an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to make the process of transferring from a community college to a four-year college more efficient for students. The program allows students to upload academic transcripts for automated course evaluations, view transfer credit equivalencies instantly, and explore different academic scenarios to help guide their path to graduation.

Dr. Blake Bedsole, the associate vice chancellor for enrollment management, expressed his full support for the new initiative.

“To me, this new partnership means that Troy University is continuing its legacy as a trailblazer in uplifting transfer students within the state of Alabama,” Bedsole said.

The pilot phase of this program is being offered at no cost to the participating institutions and will work to confirm the overall accuracy and efficiency of the program before expanding to other universities as expected over the next five years.

The partnership includes three community colleges: Enterprise State, Lurleen B. Wallace and Wallace Community College-Dothan. Troy is the first and only four-year institution to participate currently.

During the initial pilot phase of the program, transfer paths will exclusively align with Troy University until other four-year colleges are added, giving Troy a strategic advantage in enrollment.

“By leading the way as the first four-year university to participate in the pilot program partnership with Alabama Transfers and EdVisorly, Troy is setting the standard for further streamlining the transfer process for students that begin their college journey at Alabama community colleges,” Bedsole said.

This program will start the creation of a much clearer, faster and student-oriented way to explore the transfer process. It will also go through several enrollment cycles to ensure everything has been tested and improved to the best it can be before expanding.
