Troy golf teams get ready to tee off for fall season

Troy men’s and women’s golf return to the greens for its fall seasons, with both teams starting to play in September. Both teams make trips to Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina in the fall.

The men’s team goes into the 2026 fall season after ending the 2026 spring season eighth in the conference tournament. The Trojans enter the fall with two golfers that appeared on the 2025 NCAA championship contender roster.

Lee Poppell and Pablo Garcia, both seniors, competed on the team as sophomores. The two seniors look to anchor a young Trojan squad withsix underclassmen making up the nine-man roster.

The women’s golf team sits in a similar boat. It is captained by first year head coach JD Lamm. The team enters the fall season after a 12th place finish in the spring conference tournament.

Manya Saini is the lone senior on the squad with Mathilda Ringblom, a junior, being the only other upperclassmen on the roster. The other six roster spots are filled by underclassmen, with four freshmen featured on the team.

Both programs start the season at the Golfweek Challenge Sept. 6 through Sept. 8 in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. The men’s team will compete at the True Blue Golf Course for the three-day event, while the women’s team spends the three-days at Caledonia Country Club.

The men’s team then travels to new Sun Belt opponent Louisiana Tech to compete in the Argent Financial Classic in Ruston, Louisiana. The Classic runs from Septs 27 to Sept. 29.

The next two events for the men’s golf team see the Trojans traveling to the Sunshine state. Troy first travels to Estero, Florida, to compete in the West Bay Collegiate that will be held by Florida Gulf Coast on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6.

After the event, the men’s team stays in Florida when it commutes over to Miami for the Bryson Invitational. The invitational spans from Oct. 12 to Oct. 14.

Finally, the Trojans end the fall season in North Carolina for the Quebin Cup, held by High Point. The cup takes place in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20.

The Troy women’s golf team sees a schedule with similar stops. After the Golfweek Challenge, the Trojans travel to Greenville, North Carolina. There they’ll compete in the Pirate Collegiate Classic held by East Carolina on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15.

The Trojans then travel to conference opponent Arkansas State for the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas. That second classic of the season for Troy is on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13.

From there, the women’s golf team ends its fall season in Miami, Florida. The Trojans will compete in the Pat Bradley Invitational held by Florida International on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27.

Both the Troy men’s and women’s golf teams look to make its mark on the links. The fall season officially starts for both squads this weekend in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
