The Troy Trojans’ tennis programs have dominated their competition to begin this season. The men’s tennis program is on an eight-match winning streak and the women’s tennis program has reached its first ever 3-0 start to a season.

The men’s tennis team responded after a season-opening loss to Miami with wins over eight straight opponents. The Trojans have outscored their opponents 42-10 throughout this streak.

The men’s tennis team is led by freshman Mario Martinez Serrano, who has an overall record of 16-4 this season. The Trojans’ success is due to their domination in singles matchups.

The women’s tennis team has a 6-2 doubles record in the spring, gaining crucial early points. The Trojans are also 14-1 in singles matches.

Maria Guirguis and Hagar Amin have been dominant early in this season and crucial to the Trojans’ perfect record to start the season. The duo is undefeated in singles matches this spring.

The men’s tennis team hopes to keep their streak alive against Jacksonville State on Saturday, Feb. 18, in front of its home crowd at 11 a.m.

The women’s tennis team will look to keep their slate clean against the New Orleans in a neutral site game in Mobile, Alabama,  Thursday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m.
