Over 70 employers from around the South and beyond gathered in Trojan Arena for the All Majors Career Fair. The busnesses hoped to network and potentially gain new interns or employees.

Students from all walks of campus were in attendance, presenting their resumes and networking with employers in their desired fields.

Retailers, healthcare services, insurance companies and educational services were just a few examples of the types of employers in attendance. Companies offered different positions for many different majors; there was something for everyone.

“We’ve had a lot of graduates from Troy that have come through,” said Steven Davis, a claims manager at Auto Owners Insurance. “A lot of them are coming in really successful at Auto Owners and then moving from Auto Owners to other companies or different careers and being successful.”

Career Services has held various career fairs over the years, offering students a chance to connect with industry professionals from many different fields. While the primary goal is to connect with students, these career fairs also offer businesses connections with the university as a whole.

“For those who are looking for opportunities to connect with employers, we send emails out frequently to give them an idea of what to prepare for,” said Arminda McKee, director of career services. “We like that they come, we like that they take part in this.”

Career Services offers assistance for students outside of career fairs. With the help of the staff at Career Services, students can build their resumes, practice interviews, write cover letters and prepare for networking events.

“A lot of students don’t come see us until their senior year, and we’re trying to change that,” McKee said. “We want them to come into our office and let us help them frequently, or periodically, get ready for their career.”

Troy University’s Career Services is located in Eldridge Hall. Students can also find out more information regarding future career fairs and other opportunities by following their Instagram @troyucareer.
