The process to become a member of the Trojan family just became a lot easier – prospective students can now be referred to Troy using the Refer A Future Trojan Program (RAFT) program.

“This program will enable the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management to more effectively identify potential students referred by Troy’s friends and alumni, allowing us to enhance our recruitment efforts,” said Korrie Lynn Williamson, senior director of enrollment services. “The goal is to identify these students earlier and better serve them as they consider Troy for their postsecondary education.”

Once the referral is made, the Office of Admissions will reach out to them with more information about Troy.

“This information outlines what a student’s journey at Troy could look like, including the necessary steps to become a student,” Williamson said. "For those who haven't applied yet, the recruiter will guide them through the application process, highlighting important steps, requirements and any deadlines critical to their path at Troy.”

Thus far, nearly 30 referral submissions from various Troy faculty, staff members and friends have been received by the Office of Admissions.

“The referrals range from mostly high school students to a few elementary-aged students and those interested in Ph.D. programs,” said Charles Bedsole, associate vice chancellor for enrollment management. “We’re excited to see the early progress and look forward to hearing more from the Troy community.”

The RAFT program is another way to ensure that the Trojan family strengthens its family dynamic.
