Troy’s National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) organizations are gearing up for Fall Convocation 2025.

The convocation will be held on August 24. Attendees are expected to wear business attire and pay a $10 registration fee.

Representatives from the five fraternities and four sororities, known as the Divine Nine (D9,) will present and discuss their chapter’s history and service.

“NPHC convention is an event that is held by the National Pan-Hellenic Council here at Troy to give students the opportunity to get a deep dive on what the Divine Nine has to offer,” said NPHC Chaplain Isaiah Thomas, a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity who is a senior global business major from Ozark, Alabama. “That being what we stand for, our motos and values and our experiences.

“I’m most looking forward to seeing new faces or the same faces of the people that I met at our impact browse sessions. I really like seeing encouraged men and women that are getting out their comfort zone to gain more knowledge on something they are interested in.”

Na-Tassia Smith, a senior secondary math education major who is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority from Troy, Alabama, offered advice to students on the fence about joining a D9 organization.

“Take your time, do your research and look at them all,” Smith said. “Find the one that makes you feel at home.

“Find where you can truly see yourself living out their principles because this is for life. Greek life is work, time, energy and dedication. The rewards — the bonds, the growth, the memories — they’re worth every second. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Becoming a member of a D9 organization offers students the chance to develop leadership skills, engage in community service, build valuable networks and form lifelong bonds of brotherhood or sisterhood with individuals who share their values.

One of the biggest lessons my fraternity has taught me is that you get out of it what you put into it,” said Jacob Wilson, a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and bomedical sciences major from Montgomery, Alabama. “When you put in the effort and handle your responsibilities, the rewards will follow.

“I believe being in a fraternity is a collegiate way of learning how to run a business in the real world. It also gives you plenty of chances to make connections; not just in the city or state, but all over the country.”

The deadline to register for the convocation is Friday, Aug. 22, at 5 p.m. After this deadline, students can register at the convocation at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 24.

To learn more information, students can visit @troynphc on Instagram. The location of the convocation is yet to be determined but will be announced via Troy NPHC’s Instagram.
