The men’s golf team struggled in its final event before the Sun Belt Championships, shooting an 884 and finishing in 13th place in The Old Waverly Collegiate Championship.

The Trojans had to overcome a rough start as they shot a 300 on the first 18 holes.

The Trojans shot better on the last 36 holes, with a 291 and a 284.

However, it was too much to overcome and the Trojans will have to shake off these results and focus on the Sun Belt Championships.

Senior Tolver Dozier led the Trojans as he finished with a 217 for the event, one over par. Dozier tied for 22nd place in the event.

Sophomore Clayton Vannoy finished tied for 45th with a 223, while senior Wil Clowdus, who played as an individual also shot a 223.

The Trojans remain a contender heading into the Sun Belt Championships, but only have 12 days to get back in the swing of things.

The Sun Belt Championships are April 19-21 at the Raven Course in Miramar Beach, Florida.
