Troy welcomes Jenn and Co., a new print and paperie gift shop located near the downtown square on Elm Street.

The shop is owned by Jennifer Senn, who has owned the building for two years now. The company celebrated its first birthday this past August.

“We're still trying to grow traffic and get the word out,” Senn said. “It's a fun shop, and it's just little things to make your day happy.

“It's a happy place; customers can come visit and don’t have to buy anything.”

Jenn and Co. sells a variety of items including party supplies, balloon decor, custom decorations, drinkware, greeting cards, candles and much more.

“I hope they find it as a nice surprise shop when they walk in, and they’re like, ‘oh this is so cute, I didn't know Troy had this,’” Senn said. “Being away from home sometimes is a challenge, so I love helping customers find little things -- little gifts or goodies -- for friends and for yourself.”

Senn shared one of her favorite parts of the job.

“I love interacting with the customers,” Senn said. “I love when the customers see the displays and say it turned out so good, and just helping them find something they could enjoy for the season or for a party they’re having.

“But it’s more than party; it’s everyday little happies.”

Twon Kite, a junior biomedical science major from Troy, Alabama, works at Jenn and Co. “You always see a friendly face here,” Kite said. “We try to make a personal connection with every customer.

“We’re going to learn your name, what you have going on and whose birthdays are coming up.”

Kennedy Freeman, a sophomore early childhood education major from Huntsville, Alabama, has worked at Jenn and Co. for the past two months.

“Everyone is so kind, and it's just a really good environment that doesn’t feel like work,” Freeman said. “There’s many days where I'm like, ‘oh, we’re about to close.’”

“We are creative, fun and it really draws you in. I've worked here for two months now and find something new every single day in here.”

Jenn and Co. shop is located at 404 East Elm Street Suite B, Troy, Alabama.
