Bradley Smith and Madison McElrath were named Troy’s 2025 Homecoming king and queen during halftime of Saturday night’s football game.
The titles were presented after weeks of campaigning and multiple appearances.

“It feels almost surreal, and it is such a blessing,” said Smith, who is a senior accounting major from Marietta, Georgia. “Just the opportunity to be nominated for this title is an immense honor, so to get top five and to be crowned 2025 Homecoming King have just been a cherry on top of the many blessings I have been provided by this university.”
There were five students on the court for each title. Anna-Marie Fulton, Grace Hatchell, Laney Grace Kelley and Zara Smith were on the court for Homecoming queen, while Bryson Grimsley, Qwien Mason, Burnard Thomas and Kent Wilson were on the court for Homecoming king.
The finalists were put through an interview process before walking down the field with their loved ones and soaking in the moment while dressed nicely for the occasion.
Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. took part in the ceremony, along with Student Government Association President Caleb Smith, 2024 Homecoming Queen Madelyn Webb and 2024 Homecoming King Derrick Nobles. These individuals crowned McElrath and presented the Troy sword to Bradley Smith.
“The university’s been such a blessing to me, so it’s really just a full-circle moment to be able to represent the school I love,” McElrath, who is a senior psychology major from Millbrook, Alabama, said in a Troy.today article. “There’s no better opportunity, and I’m just so grateful that they thought enough of me to be Homecoming queen.”
Looking ahead, McElrath and Smith will continue to stay true to themselves while fulfilling the roles of their new titles.
“In all honesty, I don’t think this title changes anything about how I carry myself or view this school,” Smith said. “I don’t intend on much of anything changing for my love for this university and for the many opportunities I have been blessed with to serve in numerous different roles here.
“I am immensely grateful for the students and faculty that have built me into the person I am today. Most of all, I am beyond thankful for the grace of Jesus who has guided my path to lead me here and surround me with such a loving community.”
