Emma's Enlightenments

This Week’s Advice: You Have Time.

Something that has always scared me is time.

The fact is, it has the ability to either flow so slow or go so fast. It has always had a hold over me.

As a kid, it seemed like the worst thing ever. I always looked at the clock when I had to wait a couple more hours to see a friend, to get out of school, or even until it was morning.

It seemed to go on forever,

but, as I grew up, I was scared for the opposite reason.

Time seems to fly so fast. We can’t get enough.

I was so scared to grow up and be on my own.

I look at how it’s been over half a year since May, and even a year since last November.

Things have been flying by so fast.

This might be overwhelming, especially with this semester coming to a close.

It can seem like the first semester just slipped right by, and it can even seem like you didn’t get the full experience.

The most important thing to remember is, even though it doesn’t seem like it, you do have time.

Take it slowly.

Schedule your second semester classes.

Study for finals.

And breathe.

You have time to do everything you hope for.

Just with time.

As long as you realize that you control your own time, you do, really, have total control. You don’t have to fix or change everything immediately. Things will all work out with time.

Time can’t slip from you if you have a handle of your own perception of it. If you drag yourself along, then time is going to seem to go slow. But, if you’re caught up in a whirlwind of stress, time seems to go too fast. You have to find your happy medium.

This is important for this upcoming week because we have gotten to November, a stressful month as is.

We have Thanksgiving break, campus events, and even big tests coming up.

It is important to remember to stay true to yourself, and your time.

You chose your own schedule, and how to manage time passing. If you’re scared of it, you won’t enjoy being in the moment.

Things are also changing with the passage of time, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

Everything happens for a reason, as I have said before.

Nothing is by accident. If things change it is because it was meant for you.

Bigger things are coming, just remember to breathe, and take things slow.

And don’t forget, you have time.
