Be an ambassador; represent Troy

Trojan Ambassador applications are now being accepted for the fall 2015 semester.

According to the Troy University website, the purpose of Trojan Ambassadors is to be “the official Troy University Host/Hostesses for Chancellor’s receptions and activities, athletic events and organizational events.”

Ambassadors work in conjunction with the admissions office to conduct campus tours for prospective students and host banquets, teas, graduation exercises and senior preview days throughout the year.

Kaitlyn Seesholtz, a sophomore elementary education major from Birmingham and a current Trojan Ambassador, said that she has enjoyed her experience as an ambassador.

“My experience with Trojan Ambassadors has been incredibly worthwhile,” Seesholtz said. “I think it’s truly allowed me to grow as a Trojan and realize how much I love Troy University.

“Being an Ambassador has done so much for me. I’ve developed as a leader, and I’ve truly learned how much Troy means to me. When I take interested applicants on a tour, or when I work an event at the university, I’m able to represent Troy in a positive way and give back to my school.”

Seesholtz said that she encourages everyone to apply to become an Ambassador.

“You will work with an incredible group of servant-hearted, enthusiastic students and make some really genuine connections along the way. You will get to serve Troy University in a positive way and really develop your love for the school.”

Requirements to become an Ambassador include being enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate classes and maintaining an overall grade point average of 2.5.

According to the Trojan Ambassador application, any student participating in marching band, cheerleading, athletics, Trojan All-Stars or Diamond Dolls is not eligible to be involved with Trojan Ambassadors due to “conflicts with Ambassador activities.”

Applications can be picked up in the Office of Admissions in Room 111 of the Adams Administration building.

All applications are due by April 2 at noon and must be turned in to Jennifer Gardener or Jacob Grant, the Trojan Ambassador advisers, Adams  Room 111.
