Students take a trip to Camp Butter and Egg

To conclude the first full week of classes for the fall 2025 semester, Camp Butter and Egg, in collaboration with Troy’s Welcome Week Committee, put on a Trojan Adventures welcome event. Camp Butter and Egg opened all attractions to all student attendees, including ziplines, rock climbing walls and paddle boarding.  

However, due to weather conditions, activities were put on hold for a substantial amount of time. Indoor activities and the Escape Room were opened to students as an alternative.

“I’ve never been to Butter and Egg, but I was excited to see what they have to offer," said Madison Stevens, a junior graphic design major from Dothan, Alabama. “It's been great to look on social media and see when they have something going on that I can go to.  

“I love being able to have a break from classes and not have to be worried about school.” 

This event also served as a great introduction to the Trojan Adventures program offered by Camp Butter and Egg year-round. All Troy students can participate in all camp activities for free, with a presentation of their student ID.  

This includes the ropes course, group activities and a quiet study space.  

“I really enjoy zipping around on the zipline and high ropes courses,” said Jay Vanderberg, a freshman accounting major from Madison, Wisconsin. “I’m super excited to keep doing things like this.”  

Camp Butter and Egg was the conclusion of Welcome Week events. Several students sang high praises for the event lineup this year and are looking forward to participating in more campus events in the future.  

“It’s refreshing, because I’m so far away from home,” said Hope Wallin, a sophomore majoring in collaborative education from Davis Junction, Illinois. “I came here not knowing anybody, so it’s been really nice meeting people so that I can get to know more people down here.”  

Now that Welcome Week has concluded, the University Activities Council will be taking on student activities on campus.
