It’s hard to believe that I have been a part of the Tropolitan for all for all four years of my college career. I started out as a novice photographer under the supervision of Tyler Myers, found my way under April Irvin and now the newest photo editor Holly Ammons.
The past four years have been a real stepping-stone in the direction that I want to go in, both in my future careers and for me as a person. The Tropolitan staff has been more than just a group of people who get together and bring the students a newspaper.
We are a family. You guys are my family, and I’m so thankful for having you all during these wonderful four years to help grow and guide me.
First to Holly Ammons, where did the time go? It seems just like yesterday was our first day of our freshman year. You have been with me through so many hardships and many more wonderful times. I am truly and completely thankful to God for your friendship these past nine years, and I’m looking forward to the next nine years and the ones to follow those.
I congratulate you on becoming the photo editor of the Tropolitan. I know you are going to lead the Trop into beautiful and wonderful photos for the future.
Second to Thomas Gleaton, you have really proven to be a challenge to what I believe and made me think long and hard about why I believe in it. I thank you for your outstanding friendship and loyalty to finding out all that you can find out about a story. I commend you on your excellence as chief copy editor and in the direction you are headed as a person. Keep asking those hard-hitting questions and never take no for answer.
Third to April Irvin, your friendship has been one of the best ones I could have ever had.
I’m glad I can provide you with the laughter you sometimes need when you are having a rough day, and I am thankful for your guidance and sometimes the shove to be a better photographer and to get the best pictures possible.
Fourth, to the rest of the members of the Tropolitan, thank you for being a part of my time here at Troy.
Even though there are many of you I haven’t gotten the chance to know, I am so proud you all for the hard work you put in! Keep on pushing forward and making the paper the best it can possibly be!
Fifth, to my sisters of Alpha Delta Pi, I am so grateful for the sisterhood this sorority has provided me with.
Y’all have truly challenged me to strive to be the best woman I can be in academics, clubs and as a friend to the masses and a confidante to the few.
Continue to mold and shape the young women who come into our sorority to be the strongest and brightest they can be.
Thank you, Troy University, for providing me with the best possible education I could have ever hoped to get!
