This Tuesday night, students Anthony Boyer and Morgan Blackmon were declared Mister and Miss Trojan Pride during the Trojan Madness pep rally at the Trojan Arena.

Boyer, a junior physical education major from Crestview, FL, and Blackmon, a first-year nursing student from Wilcox County, Alabama, both agree that winning Trojan Pride means everything to them.

“Troy will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m proud to be able to represent this school,” Boyer said.

Blackmon said Troy has helped her thrive, and she hopes to spread the message to help others thrive as well.

When asked about executing the responsibilities of Trojan Pride, Boyer and Blackmon both emphasize the significance of being present members of the university.

“I plan on continuing to carry on my work by staying true to the community, the school, and myself,” Boyer said.

Blackmon said Troy is so welcoming, which is what she bases her plans for campus on.

“I plan on simply showing up for this campus and making sure everyone knows that they have a place at Troy,” Blackmon said.

For her campaign, Blackmon largely based her ideas around Alexander Hamilton.

“Hamilton forged his own path in America, and now he’s in our history books,” Blackmon said. “Troy gave me a place to be myself, and I want to give that to other people.

“No matter our differences, we all belong at Troy.”

As for Boyer, he saw inspiration for Trojan Pride in the strength of the local community.

“I come from another state,” Boyer said. “And tight-knit communities are really important for us there.

“For me, Troy has been like a second home since the moment I first set foot on campus.”

Several other candidates ran for Trojan Pride alongside Boyer and Blackmon, and Blackmon believes all the candidates deserved to win.

“I love them all so much, and it was so nice to meet y’all,” she said.

When asked about what being Mister Trojan Pride excites him the most, Boyer said he wishes to be there for the students that don’t have a voice.

Boyer and Blackmon wish to tell all Troy students to stay true to themselves.

“We are all so uniquely different,” Boyer said. “And us all having the space to be ourselves is what makes Troy so amazing.

Troy University’s 2025 Homecoming Court will be announced during the Arkansas State football game at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium on Saturday, November 1st at 7PM. See next week’s edition of The Tropolitan to see a full feature on the new Mister and Miss Trojan Pride.
